Book one of the Landet Zeta trilogy
Landet Zeta Krönikor från helvetet
Chronicles from Hell. Published in Swedish.
Novel based on real events, 2026
The war has come. It is here, right outside the windows. Mariupol becomes one of the first cities to be hit.
The story of the besieged city is told from three perspectives. A family tries to stay together and survive as the city they know turns into a death trap. A soldier who has been preparing since 2014 for a war that many still hope will never come is forced to face the reality he has long sensed. A doctor stays at work even as the power fails, supplies run out and the wounded keep pouring in.
While the world follows the war from a distance, they live in the middle of it.
The novel is based on extensive research and real events during the siege and occupation of Mariupol at the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. It is a story about fear, loyalty and civil courage. About survival when every way out disappears. About people forced to make impossible decisions in inhuman circumstances – and about what remains of a person when the society around her falls apart.
The novel is available in Swedish.
